Flight Training - JAA Instrument Rating |
Modula Multi Engine Instrument Rating (A)
The
aim of the course is to give the student a sound theoretical
knowledge of multi
engine piston aircraft in accordance with the instrument
flight rules (IFR), and for the candidate to learn the
skills required for safe and competent operation of such an
aircraft in IMC in accordance with ICAO PANS-OPS Document
8168.
The multi-engine
instrument-rating course is a minimum of 55 hours dual
flight instruction, of which a minimum of 15 hours must be
undertaken in a multi engine aircraft.
For holders of a current CPL(A) license the minimum course
is abridged to 50 hours with no alteration in minimum multi
engine dual instruction.
For holders of a current single engine IR(A) and ME rating
the course requirements for obtaining a multi-engine IR(A)
is a minimum of 5 hours dual instruction in a multi-engine
aeroplane.
At Cardiff Academy we currently offer an
All Aircraft Instrument Rating, which has
proven to provide the best training environment. Many
schools will offer simulator time towards the course, and
although this may provide a slight cost reduction it does
not replace the real thing. (Only complex aircraft are
used for this course, PA28R Arrow and PA34 Seneca).
